47 injured while bursting firecrackers in Hyderabad 'Diwali'

Several people, including children, sustained eye injuries in Hyderabad while bursting firecrackers during Diwali celebrations on Monday night, October 20.

A total of 47 individuals, including 20 children, were brought to the Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital at Mehdipatnam for treatment.

Ibrahim said that all the injured persons received immediate medical attention and their condition is stable.

As many as 18 people came to the hospital with grievous injuries while other had sustained minor injuries. While majority of them were sent home after first aid, those with critical injuries were admitted. A team of seven doctors treated the injured.
