As many as 41 Maoists surrendered before Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender on Friday. 

Among those who surrendered were state committee secretary Erragolla Ravi from Kamareddy, six division committee members from Odisha and Chhattisgarh, and two Maoists belonging to Telangana. 

Addressing the



media, the DGP said the remaining Maoists who surrendered were natives of Chhattisgarh. The police also seized 24 firearms from the surrendered Maoists. 

The DGP further revealed that two of those who laid down arms were Central Vision Commanders, terming the surrender a significant boost to the state’s efforts to curb left-wing extremism.
