A 40-year-old woman who went missing three months ago was allegedly murdered by a 27-year-old man with whom she was reportedly having an extramarital affair.
According to reports, Swapna, a resident of Hasanparthy mandal, was married to a man from Kamalapur. Her husband died a few years after their marriage.
Recently, Swapna travelled with her parents to Bellary in Karnataka to perform a puja.
During the visit, she reportedly became acquainted with Basava Raju(27). The acquaintance later allegedly developed into an
extramarital relationship.
On May 15, Swapna went to Bellary but did not return home. Her parents subsequently lodged a missing complaint at the Hasanparthy police station. After three months of investigation, police reportedly traced Swapna's movements and found that she had gone with Basava Raju. Police took him into custody and questioned him.
During the investigation, Basava Raju allegedly confessed to killing Swapna and disposing of her body in a forest area. He reportedly told police that he killed her as she was allegedly pressuring him to marry her.
