A 36-year-old employee of a construction company died by suicide by hanging at his rented residence in Dundigal on Sunday, with the discovery of a pistol and three bullets inside his room adding a new dimension to the police investigation.
According to the police, the victim T Venkata Rao, a native of Ongole in Andhra Pradesh, was staying at Sri Sai Balaji Enclave in Mallampet. He had been living with his brother, Ramu, for the past two months following a dispute with
his wife.
The incident came to light around evening when Venkata Rao did not respond despite repeated knocks. Ramu looked through a window and found him hanging from the ceiling fan.
On receiving information, Dundigal Police rushed to the spot, forcibly opened the door and brought the body down.
While searching the room for any suicide note or other evidence, police recovered a pistol and three bullets, which were seized.
