3 lakh acres released from prohibited lands list on Dharani

The revenue department has released over three lakh acres of land from the category of prohibited lands list on the Dharani website, bringing much needed relief to several property owners.

These lands were mentioned in the prohibited list if there is a dispute in sub-section of a particular survey number, which was blocked for the dispute. The department took the issue as suo moto and collected reports from the district collectors concerned.

Sources said the decision of releasing



lands from prohibited list was taken only after examining it in detail.

Since the issue has been pending for last few months, senior officials from the department laid a special focus on it and decided to release over three lakh acres from the prohibited list.

A Cabinet sub-committee, which was constituted to sort out the problems on Dharani portal, also discussed the issue in detail during several meetings convened with officials concerned here.
