A 29-year-old Hyderabadi, who went to New Zealand nearly three years ago, died in a road accident in Auckland in the early hours of Saturday (local time).

The victim, Syed Abdul Raheem Fahad from Chanchalguda in the Old City, was working as a taxi driver and was hit by another car in Central Auckland.According to initial reports, Fahad was on his way to pick up a passenger when the accident occurred at Symonds St in Central Auckland around 4.45am (local time).

Brother of the deceased, Syed Nemath Ullah said that, “My brother Fahad went to New Zealand



three years ago on a student visa. We received information that he met with an accident and succumbed to injuries, we request EAM Sushma Swaraj to help us and make our brother's body to reach India soon”.

One of the family members of the 27-year-old student added, “We have established contact with the concerned embassy, but we would like to request EAM Sushma Swaraj to help bring his body here at the earliest. We also want compensation”.

According to sources, Fahad’s body might reach the city by Friday or Saturday.
