Elaborate security arrangements will be in place with a total of 2,500 police personnel and about 50 high-definition surveillance cameras for the Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu celebrations to be held on July 13-14.

North Zone DCP Reshmi Perumal said coordination meetings were already held and suggestions taken from all the departments and temple authorities to conduct a peaceful festivity.

The DCP said ‘Jogins’ will have to visit the temple between 1 pm and 3 pm on July 13, and they can come directly from the Bata Showroom side for ‘aarti’ as per their customs and traditions.

A total of six queue lines have been set up, and



there will be two special queue lines for women coming to the temple carrying ‘bonams’, and a maximum of five people will be allowed along with the woman coming with ‘bonam’.

Teams including Dog Squad, Anti-Sabotage, She Teams, and Crime Units will be deployed to prevent any untoward incident and curb thefts and woman harassment incidents.

“More than 40 CCTV cameras have been set up in the temple surroundings as well as in the areas where the processions will take place. A dedicated control room has been set up in the Mahankali police station, where officials from various departments will monitor the festivities round-the-clock,” Perumal said.
