Home minister Nayini Narsimha Rao has said that the state government would fill 18,000 vacancies in the police department in a phased manner.
Narsimha Reddy and DGP Anurag Sharma inaugurated the Indian Police Expo at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road here on Saturday. The event was organised by the Telangana State Police in association with the ministry of home affairs.
The state police organised it to engage citizens and build community engagement and positive public interface. All state and Central police organisations participated to



showcase their weapons and equipment.The home minister and the DGP visited the Cyberabad and Rachakonda police stalls at the Expo. The duo interacted with police commissioners - Mahesh M Bhagavat and Sandeep Shandilya.
Several branches of Central and state reserve and civil police force set up about 20 stalls at the Expo as a part of Police Commemoration Day on October 21. The exhibition will remain open for two days. The armed reserve police forces, SHE teams and police forces displayed guns, pistols, rifles and other arms being used by them.
