The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to setup another 150 Annapurna (Rs 5 for a plate) canteens in the city. This has been approved by the standing committee of GHMC during a meeting held here on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Mayor Bonthu Rammohan. The committee has given its approval to nine items listed in the agenda.   

The members of the committee approved the imposition of penalty fee for hotels, restaurants, etc., as per the law and fixed the rates.

said that on the directive of the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, the GHMC will now set up 150 Annapurna centres at several locations across the city. The members also said the charges of the hired vehicles has been enhanced from Rs. 25.000 to 34,000 per month.

Among the total of 15 members of the standing committee, 13 were present and two were absent. Members like ES Raj, Jitendernath, Parameshwar Singh, Vijaya Lakshmi Gadwal and others were present while Srinivas Reddy and Ayesha Jahan Rubina were absent.
