Fifteen students who bunked college and headed to a hookah parlour were caught by the police in the old city on Thursday.
The students, who hail from different parts of the city, are pursuing Intermediate course from various colleges in the city. Around 12 noon, the police received a tip-off about a hookah parlour functioning from the first floor of a building at Engine Bowli crossroad near a school.
A police team led by Additional DCP (south) K. Babu Rao headed to the spot and raided the ‘Dine and Diwan’

hookah parlour. “We found around 15 students smoking hookah. Most of them had bunked classes and came to the place,” Additional DCP (south) K Babu Rao told The Hindu.
The parlour management claimed that they had opened the hookah parlour on Thursday after a two-month shutdown.
“The owners failed to install closed circuit cameras and had not obtained the necessary permissions from the authorities. A case will be registered against them for allowing minors in a hookah parlour,” the official added.
