14 illegal pump sets seized in SR Nagar raids, HMWSSB warns violators

Officials of the vigilance wing of Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) seized 14 illegal mini submersible pump sets during raids in Bapu Nagar, SR Nagar, under Khairatabad Zone on Friday.

A press release said officials conducted special inspections between 6 am and 7 am, during water supply hours, and found consumers using the pumps to draw water from the Water Board’s supply



pipelines. The practice caused low water pressure for neighbours, it said. Action was taken against those who had illegally attached motors to the pipelines.

The Water Board said using motors on supply pipelines during distribution reduced water available to other consumers and disrupted the supply system. HMWSSB warned that inspections against illegal motor use would continue and violators would face action.
