Poultry farmers in Nagarkurnool district are reeling under the impact of an unknown virus. 

The death of about 10,000 chickens in a single day across the district is causing great concern. Small and marginal farmers who have invested in this development are deeply worried.

5,000 chickens have died in a farm in Chinnapurapally, Pedakothapalli mandal, Kollapur constituency. Officials estimate that 1,500 chickens have died in Ramreddipalli Thanda in



Nagarkurnool mandal and another 4,000 chickens have died in other parts of the district. 

Farmers are at a loss as to what to do with this development.

Officials have taken steps to identify the virus that caused the death of the chickens. As part of this, a team of forensic experts will arrive in Nagarkurnool on Monday. 

They will collect samples of the dead chickens and conduct a full-scale investigation to determine the type of virus
