Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Task Force and Hussaini Alam police in a joint operation raided Sarvo Nataraj edible oil company at Puranapul on Tuesday. Samples were collected and sent to the laboratory to check for adulteration.

According to the police, following inputs, the special team raided the company’s premises which had about 5,000 oil tins, each of 15 litres and 2,000 one litre packets. The oil brands included Natraj, Gold Field, Maska Chaska, Pranchi Gold and



Tanatan.

“Suspecting that the owners were adulterating the oil by mixing groundnut oil, cotton seed oil and other adulterants into edible oil, the company was raided. We collected two packets of each brand as a sample. They have been sent to the laboratory for testing for adulteration. Based on the reports, further action will be initiated. No arrests were made,” police said.

It was learned that the company was run by one Shyam Sunder Loya and his son Rahul. Shyam Sunder is suspected to have gone to China.
