Hydraa Commissioner AV Ranganath on Saturday inspected the historic Kingsway Government School on Rashtrapati Road, Secunderabad.

GHMC Deputy Commissioner DD Nayak and Assistant Town Planning Officer Pavani informed the Commissioner that the school building had become dilapidated and that notices had been issued seven years ago declaring it unsafe.

The school’s Headmaster and MEO Prasanna requested that alternative classes be arranged for the

students to ensure the academic year is not disrupted.

The Commissioner spoke to representatives of the nearby Mahbub School Trust and urged them to allocate classrooms for temporary use. The trust assured that they would consider the proposal. The matter will also be taken up with the District Collector and District Educational Officer.

The Commissioner directed Hydraa officials to carry out the demolition of the school building during the upcoming holidays.
