World Toilet Day being observed today

Today is World Toilet Day. The day highlights the importance of sanitation and hygiene in driving improvements in public health, gender equality, education, economic development and environmental protection.

On World Toilet Day, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu today called upon everyone to highlight the importance of sanitation and hygiene in



preventing infectious diseases and improving public health. He said, this year's theme 'Valuing toilets' reminds people of the adverse impact of poor sanitation on health, environment, economy and dignity of individuals. Therefore, he called upon people to ensure that everyone has access to clean, safe and proper toilets.
