Video calling apps have become very popular in the last two years. With most people working from home, video calls have helped us stay in touch with work colleagues, family, and friends.

With an aim to provide a secure and easy-to-use video conferencing app, four techies from Hyderabad — Shoeb Ahmed Fareed, Padmanabha Rao, Syam Prasad and Syed Zaki — have developed ”MeetHour”, which is much appreciated by its users.

Enabling people to connect anywhere at any time, the techies worked on the app in their free time during the pandemic. “It’s not just a video conferencing call, one can make any kind of video presentations on the platform,” says Shoeb, the Chief Technology Officer of App.

Integrated with HD video conferencing, audio conferencing, screen sharing, content sharing, funds raising, live streaming, and other useful tools, the application can be used in various fields such as education, healthcare and IT, he says. While most of its features are similar to that of other famous video calling apps such as Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, MeetHour has a special unique selling point (USP).

Shoeb explains

, “The users will be able to customise the app according to their needs. For example, a school will be able to develop their own branded video conferencing solution — with everything including their own logo, to their teaching schedule.”

Another feature being appreciated is the Live Pad option, which is a real time collaboration tool and is suited for educational institutions and business presentations. The team added these features recently to the newly launched MeetHour 2.0. Apart from these, the users will be able to record the video calls for free, embed meetings on their website with just a single line code, choose and change the background image during the meeting, and live stream the video conference on social media websites, such as YouTube, Instagram or Facebook.

Funded by V-Empower, Inc, Global Alliant, Inc and Scale Capacity, Inc, MeetHour is attracting many individuals and companies. “Over 50,000 people have downloaded our application on Google Play alone, where our average rating is 4.5 out of five. One of our most prominent clients is a subsidiary team of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO),” concludes Shoeb.
