Egg prices have dropped sharply across Telangana, with disruptions in exports due to the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict cited as a key factor.

While the decline has benefited consumers, poultry farmers are facing losses as unsold stock accumulates in the domestic market.

India exports lakhs of eggs to West Asian countries.

However, exports have slowed significantly following the conflict, leading to a surplus supply and a consequent fall in prices.

In the first week of February, eggs were retailing at Rs 7.50 to Rs 8 each. The price has now dropped to around Rs 5. In the wholesale market, prices have declined from Rs 4.50 per egg a fortnight ago to Rs 4 at present.
