WPL 2026: Full squads of all five teams after mega auction

The mega auction for the fourth edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL) took place today in New Delhi as five franchises splurged a massive amount over several players. All teams built their squads from scratch after being allowed to retain only a limited number of players. Deepti Sharma was the most expensive player at the event as the UP Warriors shelled out Rs 3.2 crore for her, even as Amelia Kerr was next, having received Rs 3 crore from Mumbai Indians.

Six-time World Cup winner Alyssa Healy was arguably the biggest player to go unsold in the auction as none of the franchises raised the paddle for her. Among others to go unsold were Alana King, Issy Wong, Darcie Brown, and Heather Knight, even as Sri Lanka skipper Chamari Athapaththu's name was not even announced at the auction despite being shortlisted. Nevertheless, all five teams managed to build a strong, competitive squad as a total of 67 players were sold for Rs 40.8 crore, with 23 among them being overseas.
