USA left-arm pacer Tara Norris will represent Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 2027 Women’s Premier League (WPL) after being traded from UP Warriorz, the franchise confirmed. Norris will join the five-time champions at her existing fee of Rs 10 lakh, marking her return to the tournament after making history in its inaugural edition.

Norris became the first bowler to take a five-wicket haul in WPL history when she claimed 4-0-29-5 for Delhi Capitals against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on March 5, 2023. Her sensational spell helped Delhi Capitals secure a commanding 60-run

victory after posting 223/2.

The American pacer dismissed Ellyse Perry, Disha Kasat, Richa Ghosh, Kanika Ahuja and Heather Knight to register the tournament’s first five-wicket haul. She was named Player of the Match for her outstanding performance.

Norris also made history at the inaugural WPL auction by becoming the first player from an Associate nation to be picked by a franchise. Her selection marked a significant moment for players from emerging cricketing nations, opening up opportunities to feature in one of the leading women's T20 leagues.
