Ace Indian sprinter Dutee Chand has qualified for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics in both 100m and 200m races via the World Rankings quota yesterday.

22 spots were available in 100m and 15 spots in 200m via the World Rankings route.

Chand's overall position of World No. 44 in 100m and World No. 51 in 200m were well within the ranks to make her eligible to fly to Tokyo.

Dutee Chand failed in her last race to secure a direct Olympic qualification spot after finishing a disappointing fourth in the women's 100m final at the ongoing 60th National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships.

Indian swimmer Srihari Nataraj officially booked himself a

Tokyo Olympics berth today after the sport's world governing body FINA approved his 'A' standard qualification time in the men's 100m backstroke time trial at the Sette Colli Trophy in Rome. "...Srihari Nataraj Olympic qualification time of 53.77 (seconds) swam in the time trial at the Sette Colli Trophy is affirmed by FINA.

SFI had put forward its representation to FINA for this. Srihari joins Sajan Prakash as India's A qualification entry to Tokyo," the Swimming Federation of India tweeted.

Nataraj's feat came on Sunday and was also a new national record besides being enough to achieve the 'A' mark for the Tokyo Games set at 53.85 seconds.
