Ahmedabad: At the 36th National Games, Services lead the medals table with 68 medals including 32 golds, 18 silvers, and 18 bronze, followed by Haryana with 58 medals including 23 gold, 20 silver and  15 bronze. Maharashtra is in third place with 14 gold medals, 15 silver and 31 bronze. 

Siva Subramaniam of Services set a new national record of 5.31 meter in the men's pole vault, improving his own mark of 5.30m set in 2018. He cleared 5.11m on his first attempt, which broke the record at the National Games which had stood since 1987. Vijay Pal Singh of Haryana had then become the first Indian to clear 5.10m at the 1987 National Games in Kerala.

In Athletics, Gulveer Singh of Services broke the National Games record in men’s 10000m clocking 28:54.29 to win gold.
 
Breaststroke swimming star SP Likhit also played his part for Services in earning two



gold in Rajkot. He first won the 200m breaststroke gold and then swam a leg in the Services 4x100m Medley Relay triumph.

In the women’s 10000m race, Sanjivani Jadhav of Maharashtra bagged gold with a time of 33:40.51. In Shooting, Punjab defeated Uttar Pradesh to win the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the National Games 2022. 

Maharashtra and Haryana win the two bronze medals in 10m air pistol mixed team.

In Badminton, Telangana has won mixed team gold 3-0 against Kerala. In the women’s 3×3 basketball, the Telengana team defeated Kerala 17-13 in the final to clinch gold. 

The National Games 2022 is being held across six cities, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, and Bhavnagar, in Gujarat. The National Games 2022 will conclude on the 12th of this month.
