The Indian women's cricket team, led by Mithali Raj, needed to win against New Zealand for the last semi-final spot and they did after bowling out New Zealand for 79 in 25.3 overs. Left-arm orthodox bowler Rajeshwari Gayakwad was named Player of the Match for picking up five wickets.
