Six-time Grand Slam winner Sania Mirza is among the many celebrities who have endorsed ‘Sundays On Cycle’, on May 18, commemorating eight years of GST and promoting a healthier, fitter India.

The event is being organised in collaboration with the CBIC-Goods and Services Tax (GST) department and is set to host the nation’s largest cycling event.

The event will span over various locations nationwide, including 200 CBIC-GST centers, uniting lakhs of cycling enthusiasts in a collective push towards fitness and well-being.

Prominent figures such as Sania Mirza, Milind Soman, Sunil Shetty, Emran Hashmi, Imtiaz Ali, John Abraham, Dara Singh, and Shankar Mahadevan have endorsed the initiative on social media, emphasizing the importance of fitness and cycling as integral components of a healthy lifestyle.

In Delhi, the event will feature a special appearance by Tania Sachdev, an International Master and Woman Grandmaster in chess, who recently

clinched a gold medal at the 2024 Chess Olympiad in Budapest. Joining her will be Rohtash Choudhury, known as the ‘Push-Up Man of India’, along with activities including Yoga, Rope Skipping, and Zumba sessions.

“India is coming together to take a step towards fitness by cycling. I urge everyone to join our officers this Sunday and make it a memorable event,” said Shankar Mahadevan in his video. “Fit Hum, Toh Fit India,” added Milind Soman.

The Fit India Movement’s cycling initiative, which commenced in December 2024, has witnessed participation from over 3 lakh individuals across 5,500 locations in India. Notably, badminton stars Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, recipients of the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award, have lauded the initiative for its role in promoting fitness and environmental sustainability.

The Sundays On Cycle event in Delhi will commence at 6:30 AM, and flag off at 7:00 AM from Gate No. 1 of the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium.
