World number 20 Saina Nehwal's run at the Orleans Master 2021 in France came to an end after a 17-21, 17-21 defeat against her lower-ranked Danish opponent Line Christophersen. Fourth seed Nehwal who had advanced her way into the last 4 after a hard-fought 21-19, 17-21, 21-19 win in the quarter-final was outshined and outwitted by the world number 38.


Saina Nehwal, whose Tokyo Olympics dreams looks almost over, had failed to go past the Round of 16 in all the previous tournament's she participated in this year.


Further, in a good news, India's men's doubles pair of Krishna Prasad Garaga and Vishnu Vardhan Panjala stormed into final of men's doubles in



Orleans Masters (BWF Tour Super 100) with 21-17, 21-17 win over English pair of Callum Hemming and Steven Stallwood.

In the semi-final clash, Krishna and Vishnu displayed an attacking mindset and dominated both the games to finish the match in just 35 minutes.


However, Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy went down to World number 8 and top seeds 18-21, 9-21 in Women's Doubles semi-final clash against Thailand's Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Rawinda Prajongjai. Their match lasted for 37 minutes.


Earlier on Friday, Ashwini and Sikki had outplayed English pair of Chloe Birch and Lauren Smith 21-14, 21-18 in the quarter-finals clash that lasted for 41 minutes.
