Ace Tennis players Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem and Simona Halep have entered into the fourth round of French Open while Stan Wawrinka suffered a shock exit from the tournament.

In Men's Singles, Rafael Nadal advanced into the Last 16 with a 6-1, 6-4, 6-0 victory over Italian Stefano Travaglia. The second seed Spaniard is looking to extend his record to 13 titles at Roland Garros and hoping to match Roger Federer’s record of 20 Men’s Grand Slam singles titles. He will next meet 213th-ranked Sebastian Korda, the son of 1998 Australian Open champion, Petr Korda. American qualifier Korda defeated Pedro Martinez 6-4, 6-3, 6-1 in a rain-interrupted match.

French wildcard and 239th-ranked Hugo Gaston knocked out 2015 French Open champion Stan Wawrinka 2-6, 6-3, 6-3, 4-6, 6-0 in the third round. Gaston next faced Austrian third seed Dominic Thiem who prevailed over Norway’s Casper Ruud with a 6-4, 6-3, 6-1 win.

In Women's Singles, top seed and title favourite Simona Halep defeated American teenager Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-1 in only 54 minutes. The reigning Wimbledon champion will meet another 19-year-old opponent, Poland's Iga Swiatek, for a place in the quarter-finals.

Halep's status as the women's frontrunner was reinforced following the withdrawal of Serena Williams, on top of the absence of world number one and defending champion Ashleigh Barty, as well as US Open winner Naomi Osaka.

Swiatek dismissed former Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard 6-3, 6-2 to seal a berth in the last 16

In another match, France's Caroline Garcia beat 16th-seeded Elise Mertens of Belgium 1-6, 6-4, 7-5 in the third round. 45th-ranked Garcia will face third-seeded Elina Svitolina in the fourth-round. Two-time quarter-finalist Svitolina registered a 6-4, 7-5 win over 27th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova of Russia.
