Paris: In French Open Tennis, Rafael Nadal defeated old rival Novak Djokovic in a long-fought classic in four sets to reach his 15th French Open semi-final. In a marathon quarter-final clash that lasted four-hour-and-12-minutes, the 13-time Roland Garros champion won the pair’s 59th career meeting 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7/4). 

This is Nadal's eighth victory in 10 French Open matches against last year’s winner Djokovic. He will now meet third seed Alexander Zverev on Friday in the Men's Singles semi-finals.

In Women's singles, American teenager Coco Gauff defeated compatriot Sloane



Stephens in straight sets 7-5, 6-2 to book a semi-final spot. Now world no. 23 will clash with Italy's 59th-ranked Martina Trevisan for a place in Saturday’s final.

In Women's doubles, India's Sania Mirza and her Czech partner Lucie Hradecka's campaign came to an end as they lost 4-6, 3-6 to US pair Coco Gauff-Jessica Pegula in the third round.

India's Rohan Bopanna and his Dutch partner Matwe Middelkoop will face El Salvador's Marcelo Arevalo and the Netherlands' Jean-Julien Rojer in the first-ever Men's Doubles semi-finals tomorrow.
