Paris: PV Sindhu has crashed out of the French Open Superseries Badminton tournament in the opening round. She lost to the fourth seeded Chinese Shixian Wang in straight games, 10-21, 11-21 in Paris last night.

Sindhu, who is ranked 13 in the world, had made it to her first Super Series final at the Denmark Open last week, stunning higher placed Chinese



Yihan Wang and world number two Carolina Marin of Spain.

Besides Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth also made an exit yesterday. However, world number one Saina Nehwal, P Kashyap, HS Prannoy, Ajay Jayaram, and the pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa advanced to the pre-quarterfinals. They will play their pre-quarterfinal matches today.
