Odense: In badminton, Indian challenge ended with the loss of P V Sindhu and Sameer Verma in quarterfinals of the Denmark Open in Odense, Denmark yesterday.

In Men's singles, Sameer retired from the quarterfinals during the second game against Indonesia's Tommy Sugiarto. Tommy defeated Sameer 21-17 in the first game, the



shuttler retired midway in the second game.

Earlier in women's singles, world No. 7 Sindhu bowed out after losing quarterfinals against world no.8 Korean AN Seyoung 11-21, 12-21.
Her defeat marks the end of the Indian challenge in Women's Singles in the Denmark Open.
