Defending champion Novak Djokovic has stormed into the semifinals of Wimbledon Tennis Championship. He defeated Jannik Sinner of Italy 5-7, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 in London last night. Djokovic will now face Britain’s Cameron Norrie for a place in the final, which will be played on Sunday.  

Djokovic is bidding to go level with Pete Sampras as a seven-time Wimbledon men’s champion. That would put him just one-off Roger Federer’s record of eight.

an another match, Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza and her Croatian partner Mate Pavic have reached the mixed doubles quarterfinals after receiving a walkover in their Round of 16 matches. The Indo-Croatian pair will take on the Australian-Canadian pair of John Peers and Gabriela Dabrowski in the quarterfinals yesterday. In the other mixed Doubles match, Americans Jack Sock and Coco Gauff will meet Edouard Roger Vasselin and Alize Cornet of  France.
