No timeline, but Asia Cup trophies will be in India one day: Devajit Saikia

The two Asia Cup trophies won by India in the past year remain away from the country's cricket board, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is confident they will eventually find their way back to Mumbai.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia stopped short of putting a date on their return, saying the board was not working with a specific timeline. His assurance came after India's men's and women's teams had declined to collect their respective trophies from Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president Mohsin

"Asia Cup trophies, we hope they will come one day. I will not give you a timeline, but I can assure you that both the trophies will land up in this office of the BCCI at the Wankhede Stadium," Saikia told reporters after the board's 95th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mumbai on Friday.

India's men's team lifted the T20 Asia Cup in Dubai last year after beating Pakistan in the final. The women's team followed that success by defeating Sri Lanka earlier this month to win the women's Asia Cup.
