Newly crowned world champion Neeraj Chopra is all set to participate in the men's javelin event at the Zurich Diamond League on August 31. Long jumper Murali Sreeshankar is also part of the entry list for the Zurich leg, one of the 14 Diamond League meetings, at the Letzigrund stadium at Weltklasse.

This will be Neeraj Chopra's third Diamond League meeting of the season after his successful outings in Doha and Lausanne in May and June.

The Zurich Diamond League will see Neeraj facing top-class competition. While Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem, who won the silver in Budapest on August 27, is not part of the start list, world leader Jakub Vadlejch along with Germany's Julian Weber and Grenada's

Anderson Peters are part of the 10-man fray.

Neeraj Chopra became the first Indian to win the World Championships Gold in Budapest with a best effort of 88.17m. Arshad Nadeem finished second with 87.89m while Vadjlech took bronze in the world meet.

Neeraj will be high on confidence but the 25-year-old Olympic and world champion highlighted issues with his abductor injury.

" I was prepared to push myself even after throwing 88.17m, but had to be mindful of my adductor strain," Neeraj Chopra said after winning the Gold medal on Sunday.

Neeraj is at the third spot in men's javelin Diamond League points table. He has 16 points with wins in Doha and Lausanne.
