Harry Maguire recent fine run of form for Manchester United was rewarded as the defender won the Premier League Player Of The Month award for November.

After a period of intense scrutiny and criticism, which saw him stripped of the Manchester United captaincy and nearly leaving Old Trafford, Maguire's turnaround has been nothing short of extraordinary. His performances in November were pivotal in Manchester United's defensive solidity, with the team not conceding a single goal in the league throughout the month.

Maguire's commanding presence was particularly noted in away victories at Craven Cottage and Goodison Park, where he was dominant in aerial duels and effective in progressing the ball. This string

of strong displays helped him edge out competition from notable players like Jeremy Doku, Anthony Gordon, Raheem Sterling, Marcus Tavernier, and Thomas Kaminski for the monthly accolade. Not only did he contribute to three clean sheets, but his leadership on the pitch also played a significant role in Manchester United's perfect record for the month, which included wins against Fulham, Luton Town, and Everton.

This award marks Maguire's first Player of the Month honour in the 2023-2024 season. He became the 15th defender to win the award and the third Manchester United defender after Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic to win the accolade.

Maguire is the first defender to win the award after Joel Matip in February 2022.
