Maharashtra’s athletes continue their stellar performance at the Khelo India Youth Games in Bihar. With 84 medals including 33 gold and 26 silver, Maharashtra has maintained its top position in the medal tally.
Meanwhile, Karnataka is in second place with 44 medals, including 14 gold, while Rajasthan is in third place with 27 medals.
Today marks the ninth day of the Khelo India Youth Games. The day witnessed intense competitions in football, hockey, boxing, Kabaddi, and Yogasana.
Additionally, the events of two martial arts games Kalaripayattu and Thang-Ta commenced today.
In the boys’ football , Odisha’s team entered in the final , defeating Mizoram by 5-1. Tomorrow, the girls’ final match will be played between Tamil Nadu and Jharkhand at Yamuna Bhagat Stadium in Begusarai.

Arjun Kumar Chandra and Anant Swarnkar won a gold medal for Chhattisgarh in the doubles event. In the same sport, Nitin Kumar of Jammu and Kashmir secured a bronze medal for his state in the boys’ category.
The Khelo India Games are also witnessing the breaking of youth games records. In the Weightlifting in 81 Kg category of boys Sairaj Pardeshi of Maharashtra set a Khelo India record by lifting 171 kg in Clean and Jerk and 311 Kg in Overall categories. Sairaj clinched gold whereas M. Tarun of Andhra Pradesh Silver and Ayush Rana of Uttar Pradesh , bronze medal.
Yesterday, in weightlifting, Aisengfa Gogoi of Assam lifted 183 kilograms in the 55 kg weight category, setting a new Youth Games record and winning a gold medal. In this event, Odisha’s Mina Santa won silver, and Andhra Pradesh’s Hema Karangi won bronze.
