Maharashtra was leading the medals tally with 57 medals, including 15 Gold, at the end of day 2 of Khelo India Youth Games in Pune yesterday. 

11 of the Gold medals were won yesterday itself, with 5 coming in Gymnastics, three in Swimming, two in Athletics and one in Weightlifting. Apart from the 15 Gold, the hosts have, so far, bagged 19 Silver and 23 Bronze medals.

A media release said, Delhi is close second with 13 Gold, 10 Silver and 13 Bronze medals, while Haryana are placed third with 12 Gold, 10 Silver and 18 Bronze. Haryana won all seven gold medals in Wrestling in the Girls' under-17 category. In Weightlifting, the victory podium was dominated by Mizoram who clinched two gold.

Bavleen Kaur from Jammu and Kashmir bagged two gold and two silvers. Protishtha Samanta stole the show in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics by winning three gold medals yesterday. With this Protistha takes home four gold medals for West Bengal. 

Punjab’s Kunwer Ajai Raj Singh Rana was the star of the athletics competition with a 75.40-meter throw that earned him the Under-17 javelin throw gold. Today also finale events in Gymnastic Athletics Swimming and Judo are scheduled. Talented young sportspersons will also be seen playing Football, Hockey, Badminton Weight Lifting and Wrestling.
