Commonwealth Games champion Lakshya Sen slipped out of the world's top 20 in the latest men's singles rankings released by the BWF on Tuesday. Sen dropped to 25th place after exiting the All England Championship in the second round.

Sen was knocked out of the All England Open 2023 men's singles event after losing in straight games to Anders Antonsen of Denmark at Birmingham's Utilita Arena. Lakshya, who lost to Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen in the All England Open final last year, was defeated in the round of 16 of the BWF Super 1000 event by world No. 18 Anders Antonsen 21-13, 21-15.

Lakshya, who reached a career-high world no. 6 in November last year, hasn't been in the best of form, having exited the Malaysia Open,



India Open, and German Open early. Sen had a blistering start to the season on the European circuit last year, winning the India Open and reaching the finals of the German Open and All England Open.

H S Prannoy continued to remain steady at the ninth spot, while Kidambi Srikanth regained his top 20 spots after climbing two positions. In women's singles, PV Sindhu stayed in the ninth spot, while Saina Nehwal, who had skipped the All England Championships, slipped five places to 32nd spot.

The men's pairing of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty continued at the sixth spot, while's the women combination of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand lost a rung to be at the 18th position, despite a semifinal finish last week.
