It was indeed a Super Sunday for Indian badminton as Lakshya Sen followed PV Sindhu's title-winning performance with a triumph of his own at the Hylo Open 2026. Lakshya brought an end to his year-long wait for a BWF World Tour title, defeating Indonesia's Jonatan Christie 21-17, 21-10 in the men's singles final at the Saarlandhalle in Saarbrucken, Germany, on Sunday.

After Sindhu outclassed Denmark's Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt in straight games to clinch the women's singles crown, Lakshya ensured that India finished the

tournament with a double delight. The Indian shuttler produced a composed and commanding performance against the fourth seed, recovering from a challenging opening phase before taking complete control of the contest.

The victory was particularly significant for Lakshya, who had been searching for a title since winning the Australian Open in November 2025. His triumph in Germany also marked a successful return to the winner's circle after a season in which injuries and inconsistent results had interrupted his progress.
