In the Khelo India Youth Games, Maharashtra has maintained its top position in the medal tally with 52 medals, including a haul of 19 gold.
Karnataka recaptured second position today with 10 gold, 15 silver, and three bronze medals, followed by Rajasthan, which has 18 medals, including 10 gold.
On the 5th day, a large number of Judo medals across different weight categories were decided. In the boys’ categories across different weight slabs, Punjab secured eight medals, including two gold and three silvers.
Similarly, Delhi bagged four medals, including two gold, showcasing commendable performances of its female judokas. In swimming, several medals were decided in the backstroke, freestyle, and medley
categories.
Events for 30 out of 38 medals have been completed, with Karnataka bagging a lion’s share of 26 medals, including 10 gold. Maharashtra has secured 22 swimming medals, followed by Telangana with nine. Our correspondent reports that the 5th day was a roller coaster for several teams in terms of the medal tally. Bihar’s quest for a Gold Medal was accomplished when the Bihar boys’ team clinched Gold in the quad category of Sepak Takraw, defeating Manipur in Patna.
The Bihar girls’ Sepak Takraw team in the quad event clinched the silver medal after suffering a defeat against Manipur. Several events of Kabaddi, Rugby, Volleyball, Table Tennis, and Hockey were held across the host cities in Bihar.
