In Khelo India Youth Games the Maharashtra team has reached the number one position with six gold and a total number of 19 medals in its kitty.
The Rajasthan team with six gold , one silver and one bronze is in second position. Karnataka which has bagged 18 medals including five gold has third position in the medal tally.
The Maharashtra players who performed very well in different segments of archery have ignited hope of a medal as final matches of recurve and compound in different combinations like single, double and mixed will be played tomorrow.
In football Jharkhand boys defeated Delhi by 1-0 in a tough fight at Barauni Refinery stadium this evening. The Mizoram team thrashed Bihar by 6-1 in a one sided game in Begusarai.
In the recurve category of archery mixed doubles the pair of
Dhaynesh Chinale and Sharvari Shende of Maharashtra stormed into the final defeating Andhra Pradesh, where the team will clash with Haryana for the quest of Gold. The pair of Manav Ganesh Jadhav and Tejal Salve has also secured a place in finals in the compound mixed category.
All the finals of archery will be played at Bhagalpur at Sandy’s ground.
The girls players of Bihar in cycling claimed laurels as well as medals in two events. The first medal in the form of silver was clinched by Suhani Kumari in the individual category of scratch race. In the team sprint category the trio of Suhani Kumari, Shalini and Amrita snatched the second silver, with Bihar featured at 11th position in medal tally.
Nail biting matches were witnessed in Gatka, Kabaddi and Volleyball at different locations.
