In Tennis, Czech Republic's 24-year-old Karolína Muchová upsets world No 1 and top seed Ashleigh Barty 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 and won the Australian Open quarter-final at Melbourne Park this morning. 

Muchová bounced back after a medical timeout in the second set. Ashleigh Barty’s bid to become the first local player to win the Australian Open since Chris O’Neil in 1978 got ended after this defeat. Muchová will return tomorrow to play the winner of the all-American clash between



Jennifer Brady and Jessica Pegula.

In other fixtures, Serena Williams defeated Simona Halep, 6-3, 6-3, and Naomi Osaka defeated Chinese Taipei's Hsieh Su-Wei 6-2, 6-2 in the Australian Open quarterfinals yesterday.

On the men's side, Russian qualifier Aslan Karatsev continued his dream run with a win over an injured Grigor Dimitrov, while Novak Djokovic edged Alexander Zverev to book his last-four berth.
