In Hockey, Indian eves defeated Malaysia 2-0 in their third pool match of the Women's Asian Champions Trophy in Singapore yesterday. With this win, India remained at the top of the pool table with seven points above Korea, China, Japan and Malaysia. In the first seven minutes of the game, Poonam Rani scored a well-executed field goal to give India the lead.
Deepika Thakur doubled India's lead with a penalty corner conversion in the 45th minute. Indian eves will next take on China on Friday. Indian men's team already lifted the Asian Champions Trophy defeating Pakistan 3-2 in the final in Kuantan, Malaysia on last Sunday.
