Birmingham. However, India found new heroes to finish among the top 5 in the medal table.

Wrestlers contributed the most to the medal tally of India with all 12 of them returning home with medals. Weightlifters won 10 medals, including 3 Gold medals while Table Tennis stars won 7 medals, including 4 Gold.

Despite the absence of shooting and archery, India shone in athletics, Lawn Bowls, Para Powerlifting apart from sports like wrestling, weightlifting, boxing, and badminton where India have traditionally done well.

India won as many as 6 medals in track and field with Eldhose Paul bringing home a historic Gold medal in men's triple jump while Avinash Sable won India's first-ever medal in 3000m men's steeplechase - a Silver.
