In Men's Hockey, India thrashed Japan 9-0 in their third round-robin match of Asian Champions Trophy at Muscat, Oman last night. 

Harmanpreet Singh, Mandeep Singh and Lalit Upadhaya netted a brace each for India, with Akashdeep Singh, Gurjant Singh and Kothajit Singh being the other goal scorers. It was India's third straight win of the tournament, and they have strengthened their chances of making it to the semi-finals.

India



had registered a convincing 11-0 win over hosts Oman in their opening game, before beating arch-rivals Pakistan, 3-1 on Saturday. India will next play Malaysia tomorrow and South Korea on Wednesday.

At the end of the round-robin stage, top 4 of the total six participating teams will play in the semi-finals. 

The semi-finals will be played on Saturday, with the final slated for Sunday.
