Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) CEO Rajesh Menon said Virat Kohli’s hunger for success remains as strong as ever and backed him to continue representing the franchise until at least 2030. Menon stated that Kohli is expected to play for another three to four years, praising the legendary batter for his unwavering commitment to the franchise he has called home since the inception of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008.
Kohli’s association with RCB is one of the most enduring and remarkable player-franchise partnerships in world cricket. Having represented the Bengaluru-based side in every IPL season, he has become the face of the franchise.
Over the years, he has rewritten the record books, emerging as the highest run-scorer in IPL
history with 9,336 runs from 283 matches. Most recently, he played a key role in helping RCB successfully defend their IPL title, further cementing his legacy as one of the franchise’s greatest-ever players.
“RCB and Virat are different sides of the same coin. He has been the constant factor for RCB throughout. We have not seen him not being part of RCB even if he moves out of his cricketing career. We have to figure out. That said, next three-four years, I am sure he'll be playing ... for at least four years,” Menon said.
“He is fit, the hunger never dies. You saw him this IPL season bring on the energy, runs, attitude.everything was there. Three-four years, absolutely no problem,” the RCB CEO said.
