PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy will lead the Indian team at the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships 2023, which will be held in Dubai from February 14 to 19. PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy are India's top-ranked singles players in the women's and men's singles, respectively. While PV Sindhu is ranked seventh in the world, HS Prannoy has risen to eighth in the latest badminton world rankings.

Except for the mixed doubles competition, which features only one pair, each category (singles and doubles) has two players and teams selected.

Aakarshi Kashyap, who won the Bangladesh International Challenge in December, will compete alongside PV Sindhu in the women's singles. She also advanced to the quarter-finals of the CWG 2022.

Meanwhile, world No. 10 Lakshya Sen is the second player in

the men's singles of the biennial competition. The 21-year-old had an impressive 2022 which saw him winning the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games.

French Open champions Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will shoulder the responsibility in the men's doubles, with Krishna Prasad G and Vishnuvardhan Goud making it to the team as the second pair.

The Badminton Association of India (BAI) has once again used the system of directly selecting the top players and holding trials for the rest of the squad in order to select a team capable of competing for a medal in the prestigious continental competition.

The event's last edition in 2021 had to be canceled due to the COVID pandemic, and the Indian contingent would be eager to demonstrate how far they have come since 2019.
