Indian men's doubles pairing Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty continued their ascent in 2022 after registering a commanding straight-game win over Korean pair of Choi Sol Gyu and Kim Won Ho at the French Open on Saturday, 29 October. The Commonwealth Games gold medal winners progressed to the men's doubles final of the French Open Super 750 badminton tournament at Paris.

The world number 8 Indian pair dished out an attacking game to outwit the Korean combination 21-18 21-14 in the semifinals that lasted

45 minutes.

The Indian pair, thus, reached its second final of a BWF world tour event in 2022, having won the India Open Super 500 tournament in January earlier this year.

On their way to the finals of the tournament, Satwik and Chirag have defeated top seeded Japanese pair Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi in the last eight. The men's pairing are the only remaining Indian challenge left in the competition after Kidambi Srikanth, Sameer Verma and HS Prannoy were knocked out of the round of 16.
