India' star mens doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty progressed to the semi-finals of the Denmark Open, while Lakshya Sen crashed out in the quarterfinal stage of the men's singles event on Friday, October 17. Satwik-Chirag, who had won bronze at the BWF World Championships, defeated Rian Ardianto and Rahmat Hidayat 21-15, 18-21, 21-16 in a hard-fought final 8 encounter on Friday. The match lasted for 65 minutes.

The Indian duo will face the winner of the clash between Chen Bo Yang and Yi Liu of China and Japan's Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi in the next round of the

competition. After taking the first game with relative ease, Satwik-Chirag were pushed in the second round by Ardianto and Hidayat as the Indonesian pair forced a decider after a strong comeback.

The World No.3 duo went to the drawing board and bounced back quickly in the third and final game as they tightened their defence and also got the better of the Indonesian pair in the net exchanges. This helped them secure the win. Satwik-Chirag had defeated Scotland's Christopher Grimley and Matthew Grimley, and Chinese Taipei pair of Lee Jhe-Huei and Yang Po-Hsuan in the opening two rounds.
