Left-arm fast bowler Yash Dayal has been banned from participating in the UP T20 League by the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA). The decision comes in the aftermath of sexual harassment allegations against the cricketer, as he’s facing rape charges in Ghaziabad and Jaipur.

In the Ghaziabad case, Dayal is facing sexual exploitation charges under the pretext of marriage and has received protection from arrest from the Allahabad High Court. However, the Jaipur High Court has refused to grant relief from arrest,

considering the sensitivity of the case involving a minor. The next hearing is scheduled for August 22 and the threat of arrest looms large on the cricketer.

Dayal was supposed to play for Gorakhpur Lions in the UP T20 league 2025 after being bought for Rs 7 lakh by the franchise. The 27-year-old has been at the top of his game for the past two years and even played a crucial role in helping Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) win their maiden IPL (Indian Premier League) in 2025, having scalped 13 wickets in their victorious campaign.
