England continued their dominant run over India in the Women's T20 World Cups with a -run win on Saturday.

This was England's sixth win over India in the competition's history as the heroics of Renuka Singh and Smriti Mandhana went in vain. India had won the toss on the day and elected to field first.

On the day when Harmanpreet Kaur admitted that bowling was a concern for India, it was Renuka who produced an impressive spell of bowling.

The India pacer delivered in the very first over as she dismissed Danni Wyatt in the third ball with Richa Ghosh taking a blinder. In her next over, Renuka first castled Alice Capsey and followed it up with the scalp of Dunkley in her third over as India seemed to be in control of proceedings.

Nat Sciver-Brunt and Heather Knight then came together to stitch together a vital partnership to steer the ship to safety for the England team. Knight was dismissed in the 11th over for 28 runs by Shikha Pandey, but England had reached 80 runs by then.

Sciver-Brunt continued on and scored a well-made fifty but Deepti Sharma got her wicket as England were 120 for five in 16.5 overs.

Amy Jones scored a blistering 40 off 27 balls to give some late acceleration before Renuka returned to complete her five-wicket haul in the last over with the scalps of Jones and Katherine Sciver-Brunt as the English innings ended at 152 for seven wickets in their 20 overs.

Mandhana got India off to a strong start with four boundaries off Katherine Sciver-Brunt's in the third over. But Lauren bell then dismissed the dangerous Shafali Verma for eight in the fourth over to put some brakes on the scoring.

Jemimah Rodrigues also struggled to get going and could only get 13 off 16 balls before she was sent back to the pavilion by Sarah Glenn. Sophie Eccelstone then got the big wicket of Harmanpreet as England were firmly in control with India at 62 for three in 10.2 overs.

Mandhana then got some support from Ghosh and the duo got India past the 100-run mark. The opener scored a valiant 52 off 41 balls before her stay was ended by Glenn.

Ghosh seemed to be the lone warrior for India in the end, but she didn't receive enough support from the other end as the Indian innings came to a close at 140 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs.
