Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated the Indian cricket team for their emphatic victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, calling it a display of "exceptional skills, determination and teamwork".
"Champions! Congratulations to the Indian team on winning the ICC Men's T20 World Cup! This remarkable triumph reflects exceptional skills, determination and teamwork. They have shown outstanding grit
through the tournament. This victory has filled every Indian heart with pride and joy. Well done, Team India!" PM Modi said in a post on X.
The win came at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where India crushed New Zealand by 96 runs to claim the 2026 T20 World Cup. India became the first team to defend a T20 World Cup title, the first to win the trophy three times, and the first to lift it on home soil.
