Captain Prithvi Shaw on Thursday hit his 3rd 150-plus score to help Mumbai register a convincing 72-run win over Karnataka and set up the final clash vs Uttar Pradesh. Notably, Uttar Pradesh defeated Gujarat by 5 wickets in the second semifinal of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

After being asked to bat first, Mumbai lost Yashasvi Jaiswal early but Shaw continued from where he left in his quarter-final match against Saurashtra and continued to enjoy his rich vein of form. Shaw smashed 17 fours and 7 sixes en route to his 122-ball 165 which took Mumbai's total to 322 in Delhi. Mumbai lost the last five wickets for just 36 runs. Y Vyashak scalped four wickets while M Parsidh also picked up three

wickets.

Prithvi Shaw Also went on to broke Mayank Agarwal’s record of scoring most runs in a single Vijay Hazare Trophy edition. In the ongoing edition, Shaw has managed to score 754 runs from seven matches and as a result, he has broken Agarwal’s record who had registered 723 runs in the 2017-18 edition.

Devdutt Padikkal's fifty at the top raised hopes for Karnataka but he never got support from the other end. Manish Pandey fell cheaply, Karun Nair failed to convert and even though BR Sharath played a fine inning late in the day, it was all too little too late for Karnataka. For Mumbai, Tushar Deshpande, Prashant Solanki, Tanush Kotian and Mulani took two wickets apiece.
